Lawyer FAQ
What does the platform fee cover?
Payment processing, escrow operations, lead routing, masked-number infrastructure, customer support handling level-1 client questions, and platform development. No middlemen.
Do I need to be empanelled with a specific Bar Council?
Any State Bar Council enrolment in India is fine. We verify against the BCI registry and your state SBC.
Can I set my own consultation fee?
Phase 1 consults are fixed at ₹499 to keep client trust and demand-side conversion high. Senior advocate consults at ₹1,499–₹2,499 are coming in Year 2.
What if a client demands something outside the SKU scope?
Tell them politely it is not in scope and add a note to the order. We will never penalise a lawyer for refusing out-of-scope work.
How fast do I get paid?
Once a customer marks the matter accepted, payout to your linked bank account is initiated the same day. Razorpay typically settles in 1–2 business days.
Can I take the client off-platform after the first matter?
No. Off-platform billing is the single hardest line in our Code of Conduct and triggers immediate suspension. Repeat offenders are reported to their SBC.
Do I keep ownership of work I draft?
You retain professional copyright; LawLand gets a non-exclusive licence to deliver the document to the customer who paid for it. Templates contributed to the public library are licensed separately and clearly.
Is there an exclusivity clause?
No. Practise wherever you want. We earn your continued use through quality leads and timely payouts.
